PURPOSE:To obtain a recording head capable of printing at higher speed and having a long life by a method wherein a feed electrode having tapered end parts and a direction change-over part inclining an insulating substrate correspondingly to its travel direction to bring the tapered faces of the feed electrode into contact with a recording film are formed on the insulating substrate. CONSTITUTION:End parts of a feed electrode 20, i.e., end parts of an insulating substrate 10, are formed to be tapered faces 21. A direction change-over part 30 provided on the back surface of the insulating substrate 10 acts to incline the insulating substrate 10, i.e., a recording head, correspondingly to its travel direction. In the case of traveling in a direction of an arrow A, the direction change over part 30 rotates in a direction of an arrow (a) to bring one tapered face 21a of the tapered faces 21 into contact with a recording film 40. Then, with an input signal to a head drive IC 50 through an external substrate 54, the head drive IC 50 applies a pulse voltage corresponding to the signal to the feed electrode 20. Since the tapered face 21a at the top end of the feed electrode 20 is in contact with a resistor layer 41 of the recording film 40, the resistor layer 41 generates heat by the pulse voltage to melt and transfer an ink 42 to recording paper P. |
