In a ceiling structure with a grid of longitudinal and transverse joists (6,18) set up on edge, lamps are suspended in various positions with parabolic reflectors (2) mfd. of thin sheet metal whose lower edges (3) lie in the plane of the undersides of the joists (6) and parallel to them. A cheek (5) formed on each side of the reflector (2) is folded (7,8) to fit over the top of the joist (6) for security. The reflector, cheeks and folds are mfd. in one piece. Holders (10) for the lighting tubes (11) are fitted to the reflector (2) with feedthrough connections (20) and wires (19) to the lamp ballasts (12) mounted on vertical portions of the cheeks (5). ADVANTAGE - Aesthetically attractive ceiling is less costly to mfr. and imposes less stringent requirements w.r.t. mechanical stability.
