PURPOSE:To increase the capacity density and enable a rapid charge and an increase in capacity by providing a cadmium negative electrode plate containing a specified amount of tricobalt tertoxide to the total cadmium amount. CONSTITUTION:A cadmium negative electrode plate containing 0.25-20wt.% of tricobalt tertoxide to the total cadmium amount is provided. The cadmium negative electrode plate hardly contain inert cadmium hydroxide because of its extremely high charging efficiency. Thus, the capacity density is increased. The regulation of the amount ratio of positive and negative active materials makes the charging control easy, and enables a rapid charge by a large current of 1CA or more. Also, the battery can be increased in capacity as cadmium hydroxide for reserving is hardly required. |
