A heat pump drier has a cooling medium circulation route in that compressed cooling gas from a compressor (1) is condensed at a sub- condenser (8)(8') in a dry chamber (5) and condensed in a main condenser (2), and then evaporated in a evaporator (40 and compressed again in the compressor. The evaporated air from the evaporator is heated at the condenser and fed into the dry chamber to dry materials. The damp air from the dryer is fed into the dryer through the evaporator and the condensor.
