PURPOSE:To contrive a higher accuracy in feeding a recording paper by providing a hard layer on a surface part of a platen formed of an elastic material, and forming the surface of the hard layer in a smooth surface. CONSTITUTION:A thermal line head is pressed against a platen 13 through an ink sheet 2 and a recording paper 3 therebetween, in the same manner as in a conventional system. The platen 13 has an outer peripheral surface covered by an elastic material 13a such as a synthetic rubber in a thickness of several millimeters, the outer peripheral surface of the elastic material 13a being covered by a polytetrafluoroethylene resin tube 13b to ensure a highly sliding property. With the surface of the platen 13 covered by the resin tube, the surface is brought into an extremely flat state, whereby the coefficient of friction between the surface and the recording paper pressed thereagainst can be markedly lowered. |
