The invention provides a carrier (10) for attachment to a vehicle (14), comprising a bracket (16) securable releasably to a tow bar bracket (8) on the vehicle. A platform (11) is attached pivotably to the bracket (8) and is movable between an upright position for stowage and a horizontal position in which it can receive a load. A pair of extensible arms (18) are connected between the platform (11) and a pair of parallel rods (38), extending beneath the platform (11) and forming part of the bracket, to control the movement of the platform (11). The pair of parallel rods (38) are received by channels (36) on a tow bar bracket (8) on the vehicle, and the two brackets can be locked together. |
