MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY TO RECOGNIZE GANGLIOSIDE GQ1B AND GT1A

PURPOSE:To obtain a monoclonal antibody to recognize ganglioside GQ1b and GT1a by subjecting B cell prepared by immunizing an animal against a specific antigen and a myeloma cell to cell fusion to form a hybridoma. CONSTITUTION:An animal is immunized against ganglioside GQ1b and GT1a containing an epitope (antigen determinating group) shown by formula I as an antigen to give B cell (lymphocyte), which is subjected to cell fusion with a myeloma cell to produce a hybridoma producing a monoclonal antibody. The prepared hybridoma is cloned by methyl cellulose method, etc., to produce a monoclonal antibody having specificity to ganglioside GQ1b and GT1a containing the epitope shown by formula I. The antibody titer of the antibody is checked and a hybridoma having high antibody titer is selected and preserved.
