PURPOSE: To improve engine control by providing the observation means of an operation state parameter, the generation means of difference information with an upper limit value and a means for holding it to a fixed value until reaching the upper limit value, etc. CONSTITUTION: An engine 10 is provided with a tow pressure compressor 12 connected to a low pressure turbine 14 through a shaft and is also provided with a high pressure compressor 16 connected to a high pressure turbine 18 and an operation is controlled by electronic engine control. For the control, the controlled variable of the fuel flow rate of a normal state and an acceleration state is sent to a minimum value selection gate 28 along with the controlled variable of the fuel flow rate calculated in a closed loop 32 based on the rotation number of the high pressure compressor 16 and the lowest value is sent through an integrator 30 to a fuel valve 26. The closed loop 32 is constituted of a comparator 34, a switch 38, a multiplier 44, a rate limiter 48, adder- subtractors 52 and 56 and a correction circuit 38. Thus, the situation that the rotation number of the high pressure compressor 16 exceeds a limit value is evaded.
