PURPOSE:To save the labor of maintenance by an operator by detecting two points on the boundary of a remarked drawing and a partner drawing in the same layer, and joining these drawings automatically on a CRT by retrieving the dislocation of vectors containing said two points. CONSTITUTION:Plural hand written drawings MP are read by an image inputting device 3, and binary data is compressed by a high speed image processing device 2, and is converted into sequence-of-points data by a central processing unit 1, and is stored in a large capacity disk device 5. The unit 1 performs vectorizing processing based on the sequence-of-points data, and generates vector data. After the vector data of all the drawings are generated, automatic joining is performed. At first, the partner drawing neighboring to the remarked drawing in the same layer is determined. A vector end point A on the boundary of the remarked drawing is selected, and the vector end point B which is positioned on the boundary of the partner drawing and corresponds to the point A is detected. Point coordinates C, D one before the respective two points are extracted from the vector data, and the intersection point of a line segment connecting these two points and the boundary becomes a joining point E. |
