Remarkably high inter-image and edge effects are obtained when DIR-Couplers corresponding to Formula I are added to multilayered color photographic recording materials, in particular to green sensitive or red sensitive layers. The sharpness and color reproduction may thereby be improved. <IMAGE> I R1 and R2 denote alkyl or an aromatic group, R3 denotes H, alkyl or acylamino, R4 denotes H or alkyl R5 denotes alkyl, alkinyl, aryl, acyloxy, carbamoyl or a cyclic imido group and n has the value 0 or 1 and the total number of carbon atoms in R3, R4 and R5 is greater than 3 but not greater than 11.
