PURPOSE: To make an electric field (CHEF) generator accurate and efficient by comparing the voltage generated from a voltage generating means with a reference voltage and processing the voltage through a current sink means or a current source means. CONSTITUTION: A large number of potential generators 301 in the controller/ sequencer of a generator respond to signals received on lines X, Y similarly to others to generate a potential on a line 201 and sustain the potential. The generator 301 comprises a current source means Q1 for injecting a current into a node 402, a current sink means Q2 for removing the current from the node 402, and a comparator 406 for detecting the voltage derived from the node 402. The comparator 406 compares the voltage with a reference voltage and actuates the means Q1, Q2 to sustain the potential on the line 201 at a desired level depending on the node 402. Draining of current is regulated through the use of comparator 402 for controlling the operation of means Q1, Q2 and the efficiency of system is enhanced. |
