In a tractor for the towing of aircraft, in which the nose wheel of the aircraft is supported on the tractor, an artificial play is built into the steering system by means of a piston cylinder (8), which is built into the steering system and which is kept in a middle position by means of springs (11, 12). It is hereby possible to absorb the transverse forces, which are exerted on the nose wheel. The piston cylinder (8) also functions as a shock absorber, which can be locked electrically through wires (14, 15) in such a way that the said effect will occur only when desired. |
