PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of a molten metal by adhering boron nitride powder to the surface of a silicon nitride-based green molded body and sintering the molded body. CONSTITUTION:Silicon nitride powder is mixed with an oxide-contg. sintering aid and molded into a desired shape to obtain a silicon nitride-based green molded body. Boron nitride powder is uniformly adhered to the surface of the molded body by dipping, spraying or other method and the molded body is dried and sintered in an N2 atmosphere. By this method, the wettability of a silicon nitride-based sintered body with molten Al is deteriorated while maintaining the strength and resistance to heat, thermal shock and corrosion, so the adhesion of molten Al can be prevented. |
