<p>PURPOSE: To effectively vulcanize both rubber layers over the total length thereof by drilling a hole in an additional rubber layer immediately before performing the vulcanizing operation of a bonded rubber layer and applying compression molding pressure to the bonded rubber layer while discharging steam and gas through the drilled hole of the additional layer at the same time during actual vulcanizing operation. CONSTITUTION: An unvulcanized string rubber having width necessary to be provided to the edge part of a rubber mat is formed and perforated by using a needle. After this stiring is placed on the edge part of the rubber mat, the mat having the string is put in a vulcanizing press. In the vulcanizing press, compression molding pressure is applied to the mat while air, steam and gas are simultaneously discharged through the flow paths formed by the perforation and the fabric provided between the rubber mat and the top part of the press or an analogue thereof. Thereafter, the perforation is closed by the heat and compression molding pressure at the time of pressing. By this constitution, the confinement of the air, gas and steam between two rubber layers is not generated and the rubber layers can be surely vulcanized.</p> |
