PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR BIOLOGICAL PURIFYING WASTE WATERS CONTAINING ORGANIC IMPURITIES

Method and equipment is esp. suitable for treating waste water flows of less than 100 M3/day and a fluctuating flow rate. The reactor space is arranged for aeration. The water level (V1,V2) in the reactor space is variable, while the water level (V3) in the settling space is constant. Air is supplied to the reactor space depending on the water level. Live sludge is also recirculated from the settling space on the same basis. Two air-lift pumps are located in the reactor space and in the settling space these are controlled by the water level sensor of the reactor space.
