<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the registration, control and indexing of a nonresident character by mounting a nonresident character control table section in place of a nonresident character kind and code control table section. CONSTITUTION:A host interface section 1 transmits data over an arithmetic processing section 2, the data are analyzed successively in the arithmetic processing section 2, and a font pattern is extracted from a resident font area section 3 and developed gradually to a drawing area section 6. When there is no necessary character at that time, whether the character is registered to a nonresident character kind control table section 9 or not is investigated. When the character is registered, the font pattern is extracted from a nonresident font area section 5, and developed to the drawing area section 6. When a required character kind is not registered, a host computer is informed of the character kind of the character, and the font pattern of the character kind is received collectively, and registered and stored in the nonresident font area section 5. The registered and stored font pattern is used and developed to the drawing area section 6, and output to a printer device 8 by a printer control section 7 and printed. Accordingly, control is simplified, and reliability is also improved.</p> |
