摘要 PURPOSE:To enable favorable images to be printed on an object to be printed, irrespective of the surface conditions of the object, by using a colored film as a base, and providing a white-colored layer between a dyeable resin layer and the base. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving material for thermal transfer has a four- layer construction comprising a dyeable resin layer 1, a white colored layer 2, a colored film 3 as a base, and an adhesive layer 4. As the dyeable resin layer 1, resins which can be effectively dyed with a sublimable dye can be used, for example, thermoplastic resins such as polyester resins and polyaryl resins. As the white-colored layer 2, general white coating materials having a whiteness degree of preferably about 75-95% may be used. As the colored film 3, a film colored to such an extent that it can hide the color or pattern of an object to be printed 9 is used. With the colored film 3 used as the base A, the color or pattern of the object to be printed can be hidden and prevented from appearing on the surface. Since the white-colored layer 2 is provided, the ground for images is white, which enables printing of favorable images.
