PURPOSE:To update a required file by input word data even when the record constitution of a file to be updated is not known at all by previously defining the record structure of each file by a word name. CONSTITUTION:When word data for a word name are inputted, an edition processor 12 prepares an updating record from the inputted word data in accordance with a word position defined by a file format defining means corresponding to an updating word name obtained by an updating file specifying means. When the updating record is prepared, a file updating device 28 updates the master file 29 of a file name specified by an updating file specifying means in accordance with an updating sort name based on the prepared updating record. |
