摘要 PURPOSE:To average a discharge flow rate and to stabilize the molten steel level in a casting mold by providing a flat part of a limited ratio with the inside diameter of a molten steel passage to the position perpendicular to the discharge hole of the immersion nozzle near the side wall of the molten steel passage. CONSTITUTION:The flat part 35 is provided to a branch part 34 in which the molten steel flows from the molten steel passage 22 of the immersion nozzle 18 to the discharge hole 24. The flat part 35 is formed to 5-35% of the inside diameter size of the molten steel passage. The molten steel flows perpendicularly toward the lower part in the molten steel passage 22 and flows to the discharge hole 24 in a lower part 20 when the molten steel flows into the immersion nozzle 18 from the upper part thereof. This molten steel flows out diagonally downward toward the casting mold. Since the flat part 35 is provided to the inside wall surface of the immersion nozzle and an inverted Y type part to the central side of the immersion nozzle 18, the flow of the molten steel near the discharge hole 24 less drifts and fluctuates. The discharge flow rate is thus averaged and the molten steel surface in the casting mold is stabilized.
