<p>PURPOSE:To suppress variations in recording density due to the difference of the numbers of dots to be recorded and sizes of recording dots by regulating printing energy to a recording head corresponding to the type of image data discriminated by discriminating means for discriminating the type of the image data to be stored. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 inputs temperature information from a thermistor 117, identifies whether data to be recorded is character data or image data on the basis of data from a discriminator 112, and judges whether the data to be recorded are all vertical rule data or not in case of the character data. In case of the vertical rule data, the result of counted number of dots to be recorded is input from a black dot counter 113. Then, it inputs the quantity of accumulated heat from a heat accumulation counter 115, refers to a ROM table 114 on the basis of previously input temperature value, the number of black dots, the accumulated heat count, the discrimination of the type of the character, image data, obtains an optimum heating time, and outputs dot data 122 to be recorded by a thermal head 116 together with a CLD signal.</p> |
