PURPOSE:To enable the formation of images with excellent density and fixation properties by providing a thermally transferable ink layer comprising a coloring material and a specified thermally transferable binder on a heat-resistant support. CONSTITUTION:A thermally transferable ink layer 2 comprising a coloring material 21 and a thermally transferable binder 22 is provided on a heat resistant support 1. If required, a release layer 3 may be provided between the support 1 and the ink layer 2, and a surface layer 4 may be provided on the ink layer 2. As the binder 22, an amino-modified oxidized montan wax obtained by grafting an amino group to oxidized montan wax may be used, and in consideration of flexibility of a transferred image, it is preferable that the binder comprises a resin such as a polyester, polystyrene, a polyamide, polyvinyl acetate and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer as a main constituent. A low melting point material for forming the release layer and the surface layer is also an amino-modified oxidized montan wax. |
