<p>PURPOSE:To confirm program numbers at record terminating sections by reading and storing program numbers recorded on a magnetic tape by running the tape in the opposite direction and performing end searching by detecting the record terminating sections thereafter. CONSTITUTION:When end search is instructed from an operating section 16, a system controller 15 sets a mechanism section 1 to the REW running mode by outputting a control signal to a mechanism driving section 2 so as to run a magnetic tape 3 in the rewinding direction. Upon detecting a program number while the tape is run in the rewinding direction, the controller 15 stores the number and, at the same time, sets the section 1 to the FF running mode so as to run the tape 3 is the forward direction. The controller 15 further stores any program number detected while the tape is run in the forward direction and stops the section 1 by detecting a record terminating section. Thus the end search is completed. Upon completion of the end search, the program number at the record terminating section can be confirmed.</p> |
