The present invention relates to a machine for distributing fodder of the type including a movable belt 2 driven by a hydraulic motor 23 with two directions of rotation, an articulated dispensing chute 5 and a pivoting deflector flap 4, the hydraulic motor 23 being powered selectively with hydraulic fluid by one or other of two pipelines 230, 230' for supply and discharge; the device according to the invention includes a dual-acting hydraulic thrust cylinder 8 comprising a movable piston 80 the rod 83 of which is connected kinematically to the said dispensing chute 3 and to the said deflecting flap 4, this piston separating the two pressure chambers 81, 82 of the said hydraulic thrust cylinder 8, and each of these chambers is connected to one of the said supply and discharge pipelines 230, 230' so that switching on the belt in the direction necessary for dispensing the fodder automatically causes the tilting of the said flap 4 and of the said chute 5 into the open position, favourable to dispensing, whereas switching it on in the opposite direction tilts them into the closed position, for stopping off the dispensing zone Z. <IMAGE>
