<p>The invention makes it possible to obtain a new generation of thin and high-performance bullet-proof and explosion-proof glazing. The innovation in this four-component glazing, glass 1, elastomer 2, polycarbonate 3 and methacrylate 4, consists in the use of an elastomer having a high elastic modulus as a damper, distributor and brake of the shock waves. Of innovating use of a methyl methacrylate 4, as a surface finish, as it is superior to polycarbonates because of its optical qualities. The methacrylate makes it possible to avoid the use of anti-abrasion treated polycarbonates which are unsuitable for ballistic applications as they are embrittled by their surface treatment. <IMAGE></p> |
