The holding fixture for tools (6) has a locating thread (1a) for threaded workpieces (6). A piston (4) acted upon hydraulically is provided for axially supporting the tools (6). The receiving space (7) containing the hydraulic medium (8) is connected to a compensating space, the volume of which can be connected and disconnected by means of a displacement body (9). A stop (11) locks the displacement body (9) in the position disconnecting the volume of the compensating space. <IMAGE>
