In loudspeakers in whose housing a mid-range speaker can be rotated about an axis vertical to the base speaker, the problem arises that, when pivoted, a refraction or diffraction of the radiated sound occurs at the edges of the housing. It is proposed to arrange the mid-range speaker in a recess enclosing it in the housing in such a way, that at least its side walls are arranged at a distance from the edge of the recess.
