Mass flowmeters which work according to the Coriolis principle are sensitive to disturbing vibrations which have an effect on the closed piping network. A stable and reproducible measuring signal can hardly be produced. If the vibrating tube (1) is enclosed at least partly in a housing (10) which is stiff with respect to vibration, the connecting tubes (2, 3) being likewise rigidly connected to the housing (10), the device is then insensitive to disturbing influences from outside. Furthermore, even small mass flows can be measured reliably with a small expenditure of energy. <IMAGE>
