PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic sensitive material high in sensitivity and capable of forming a cyan image high in density by incorporating a phenolic cyan coupler having specified groups at the 2- and 5-positions. CONSTITUTION:The phenolic cyan coupler has the group represented by formula A at the 2-position and the group represented by formula B at the 5-position, and in these formulae A and B, Ra is H or the like; each of Rb and Rc is a substituent and optionally same or different when m and n is >=2; X is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a 4-7 membered ring; m is 0-4; n is 0-5; and when n is 1-5 and Rc is substituted at the p-position to the ureido group, Rc is halogen or the like, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to be high in sensitivity and to form a cyan image high in density. |
