摘要 An electric motor with a brake which acts automatically when the motor is switched off comprises a locally fixed braking surface and a rotatable brake armature (5), which can be pressed against the braking surface by the force of a spring (4). The armature is attached to the rotor (2) of the motor by the magnetic flux of the motor and is rotatable relative to the rotor through an angle of rotation limited by abutments. The abutments are defined by first wedge surfaces (11) which are inclined obliquely to the rotor axis and project out in rotor axis direction from the plane of the end face (3) of the rotor and by respectively associated second wedge surfaces (14) on the brake armature (5), the first wedge surfaces (11) being arranged at the end face (3) of the rotor lamination packet (2). The interaction of the first and second wedge surfaces, on actuation of the brake, causes the armature (5) to be urged with additional force against the braking surface. <IMAGE>
