PURPOSE:To improve the strength of the starting end part of a scroll by a method wherein the inner and the outer wall surfaces of the starting end part of the scroll are interconnected through a part of an outer involute curve positioned closer to the starting end side than the position of an arbitrary involute angle and a part of an inner involute curve positioned closer to the starting end side than the position of an involute angle. CONSTITUTION:When the slide portions of stationary and moving scrolls 1 and 2 pass a position P2 of an involute angle alpha of an outer involute curve E and a position P3 of an involute angle alpha+180 deg. of an inner involute curve E, contact of the two scrolls 1 and 2 with each other at the starting end of the scroll is transferred to a slide between a part, positioned away from the starting side at an angle higher than an involute angle alpha, of the outer involute curve E, and a part, positioned on the starting end side at an angle higher than an involute angle alpha+180 deg. of the inner involute curve E. Namely, a part of each of the inner and outer involute curves E and E, sliding over each other, is set to a position displaced in a direction, in which an involute angle is increased, from the starting end side in an angle alpha arc from its original position. This displacement enables the increase of the wall thickness of each of the starting end parts of the scrolls 1 and 2.
|
