A method for the treatment of a radioactive waste comprises heating radioactive metal wastes and radioactive non-metal wastes in the container by the high frequency induction heater at below 1300 ≦̸C, burying the metal wastes into the non-metal wastes, and cooling and solidifying the buried wastes. The method can effectively and economically treat radioactive wastes by solidifying the metal and non-metal wastes concurrently to highly stable and compact solids.
