PURPOSE:To improve the adhering strength among a ferrite core, 'Sendust(R) film, and bonding glass so that the reliability and yield of a magnetic head can be improved by forming a groove at the interior part of the gap facing surface of the ferrite core fitted with the 'Sendust(R) film. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head in which a gap 3 is formed by combining two ferrite cores 1 and 2, a groove 1a having a recessed cross section is formed at the interior part of the gap facing surface of the core 1 and a 'Sendust(R) film 4 is continuously formed by sputtering, etc., not only over the mirror surface section 1b on the gap facing end face of the core 1, but also into the groove 1a. Therefore, the joining surface of the core 1 with the 'Sendust(R) film 4 is not a single plane, but three-dimensional multiple planes. As a result, the adhering strength of the 'Sendust(R) film 4 to the ferrite core 1 increases and, since bonding glass 6 also gets into the groove 1a, highly reliable high- accuracy magnetic head can be mass-produced with a high yield. |
