A movable stretcher comprises a pair of supporting feet which can be folded downwards on the support frame and at the free ends of which there are rollers, the supporting feet being designed such that they are folded upwards on pushing the stretcher onto a stretcher receptacle of a transport vehicle and are unfolded in the direction of the travel position on pulling the stretcher off the stretcher receptacle. An automatically releasable locking mechanism prevents the stretcher from being able to be completely pulled off the stretcher receptacle as long as the supporting feet are not fully unfolded.
