A monitoring arrangement for an atmospheric oil burner has one or more thermoelements integrated in the burner pot 1 or its bottom 2, consisting of metal wires or metal bands 4, 5 made of material with different thermoelectric forces than the material of the burner pot, which are welded or (hard) soldered directly on the burner pot 1 or bottom 2. It is thus possible to detect the temperatures and the temperature gradients on the one hand in the direct vicinity of the combustion processes and on the other hand in a continuous manner for recognising significant sequences. <IMAGE>
