Glass element mfr. - prevents traces of knife cut by faster lowering of capturing mould
摘要
The traces of a knife cut, to sever a stream of molten glass, remain on the cut-off part and require laborious grinding and polishing to remove them eg from lenses. This is remedied by dropping the molten glass in a mould which descends faster than the pouring velocity of glass, after a certain amt has been accumulated. ADVANTAGE - This saves all grinding and polishing operations required to remove the traces of a mechanical cut from the parison.
