In the case of an arrangement for travelling beneath bridges, having travelling gear (4) located on the bridge (1), a tower supporting framework (5) extending downwards past the bridge and having a horizontal gangway supporting framework (6) connected to said tower supporting framework at the bottom and pivotable about a vertical axis (12), consisting of a working gangway (13) and a cantilever arm (14) extending the latter beyond the junction with the tower supporting framework, it is proposed that a suspended gangway (7) vertically movable by means of rope winches (20) is suspended from the cantilever arm (14). By means of this suspended gangway, even high bridge piers (3) are accessible rapidly and safely from above and without the aid of a crane. The cantilever arm (14) preferably has a cantilever-arm section (16) which is pivotable about a vertical axis and on which the carrying ropes (19) of the suspended gangway (7) engage.
