The supercharger for vehicular i.e. engine is provided with hydro-dynamic or hydro static bearings (8,9,33). The turbochargers whistling nlise, caused by the fluctuations of the pressure of the oil, due to variations in engine speed is reduced by an improved by lubrication oil control. A flow regulating valve in the oil supply pipe keeps the pressure of the oil supplied to the bearings within a narrow limit below two bars, irrespective of the delivery pressure of the engine oil pump. ADVANTAGE - Reduced noise generation.
