PURPOSE:To obtain a thin strip of amorphous metal having good magnetic characteristics while preventing the clogging of a nozzle in the stage of starting by charging a small amt. of molten metal of high temp. first into a tundish, then charging molten metal of optimum bath temp. therein. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of producing a thin strip of amorphous metal, molten metal of high temp. is prepared in a ladle 17, and molten metal of optimum temp. is prepared in a ladle 16. First, the molten metal of high temp. is charged and held in a preheated tundish 12 from a ladle 17, then the molten metal of optimum temp. is added from the ladle 16. Thereafter, a stopper 18 is opened, and the molten metal is ejected and supplied onto a cooling roll through a nozzle slit 14. According to this method, the preheating of the tundish 12 is compensated, and further the trouble of nozzle clogging is eliminated by the falling impact from an intermediate nozzle 13. |
