The invention relates to a method to permit the specific adjustment of desired values in regulated pumping systems having one or more pumps, at least one of which is connected to a unit for setting the rotating speed; one or more pressure tanks on the delivery sides of the pumps; and a regulator with the pump control system and pressure sensors for regulating to provide a constant pressure downstream of the pumps, especially in the region of small delivery streams and makes it possible to adjust desired values in as continuous a fashion as possible to ensure that regulation is as malfunction free as possible.
