<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a rolling roll from disaligning and a rolled stock from skewing during rolling by independently or concurrently moving rolling rolls in the right and left directions orthogonal to the transfer direction of a rolled stock in a vertical rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:In a vertical rolling mill where right and left vertical rolls 1, 2 roll a rolled stock 14 such as a steel sheet, etc., both vertical edge faces of the stock 14 rolled by passing in the vertical direction are detected by edge face detectors 12, 13, drivers 10, 11 operate position setters 8, 9 for the rolls 1, 2 to move both the rolls 1, 2 in an orthogonal direction to the transfer direction of the stock 14. A position detector 6 is mounted on a 2nd position setter 3 to detect the center position of both the right and left rolls 1, 2 and sends a feed-back signal to a position controller 5 so as to concurrently move the rolls 1, 2 in the orthogonal direction to the transfer direction of the stock 14 based on a set position given by a vertical position at the central position of both the rolls 1, 2 and to prevent the stock 14 from skewing.</p> |
