A light from an external source is transmitted by optical cable to an optical-fluid-filled transparent cylinder and radiated outwards by a reflecting piston structure, movable up and down the cylinder by displacement of fluid from one side of the piston to the other. The reflecting structure receives light beams from two directions and has both ends formed as inclined reflection surfaces with the inclinations such that both surfaces reflect light in the same direction. The reflectors have a finite thickness and present additional internal reflecting surfaces separated by the prism-shaped cavity. |
