P-acylaminobenzamides of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addn. salts. are prepd. by reacting cpds. of formula (II) with amine of formula R8R9NH. In the fromulas, R is R8R9N-alk-; R8 and R9 are each H, C1-6 alkyl or C3-7 cyclo alkyl ; alk is divalent org. radical derived from C1-6 aliphatic hydrocarbon ; R'1= bromo- or chloro-substd. C1-6 alkyl ; R2,R3,R4,R5,R6 and R7 are each H or methyl ; n=0 or 1. (I) are useful for treating convulsion in mammals.
