PURPOSE: To provide an alarm for high probability of premature birth owing to the uterus action, by detecting the strength and periodicity of the uterus contradiction using a sampling method and by generating a warning signal when the number of samples in a certain period, whose value exceeds a characteristic threshold surpasses a certain figure fixed in advance. CONSTITUTION: Measuring operation starts with pushing a start button 31, and a measuring converter 10 generates quasi-periodic DC voltage signals which gradually vary with duration of uterus labor pains. An A/D converter 5 converts analogue figures from the measuring converter 10 to two-valued information, which is stored in a data logger 2. In the signal treatment, these sample figures are compared with a setting, which is fixed beforehand, and stored in an operation memory bank 3. Each measurement is conducted for 600sec, and digital signal treatment 25 selects such data as the uterus contraction period is 30-300sec and the strength exceeds the threshold voltage. Then judgment is given for the required time of uterus contradiction, and when more than 4 times of uterus contradiction are detected, an audible warning signal 15 is generated.
