PURPOSE:To measure hemoglobin in blood at a high accuracy by making light indicating a specified continuous spectrum incident into a light conducting medium in contact with a part to be measured to analyze light emitted from the light conducting medium or incident light. CONSTITUTION:Light leaving a light source 1 is made incident into a light conducting medium 2 contacting blood 7 through an incident part 4. The light propagates through the light conducting medium 2 and reaches a light receiving element 3 from an outgoing light part 5. A spectroscope 6 is provided between an outgoing part 5 of the light conducting medium and a light receiving element 3 and the light analyzed is received with light receiving elements 3 arranged in an array. The light source 1 employs, for example, a xenon lamp indicating a continuous spectrum in a range of at least 500-600nm. A output of the light receiving element 3 is supplied to an arithmetic device 9 to compute an absorption peak wavelength of an absorption spectrum. Thus, a ratio of hemoglobins in blood is computed and displayed based on the movement quantity of the absorption peak wavelength. |
