The invention relates to a reinforced-concrete bridge which consists essentially of a horizontal slab (1) supported by two approximately vertical piers (2) which are integrally connected to the said slab. In order to produce a slab (1) of small thickness while at the same time improving resistance to the pressure of earth and reducing the mass of concrete necessary, it is provided that, simultaneously, the slab (1) is of prestressed concrete, and the pier, at the location (7) where it is connected to the slab (1), has an equivalent thickness of between a tenth and a twentieth of the span. Preferably, the cables (14) for the longitudinal prestressing of the slab (1) are each surrounded by two prestressing steel members (15) of the pier (2), these cables being curved up at the horizontal so as to become parallel with the prestressing cable (14) and thus to ensure a proper connection. Application to bridges having a length of between 15 and 40 metres, with or without intermediate support.

|
