The suspension comprises a pair of trailing arm (1a,1b) of which the front ends are axially supported on the vehicle body via rubber bushes (2a,2b) and is freely rockable up and down, and a torsion beam (6) connecting the arms (1a,1b) to each other. The rocking shafts (7a,7b) of the arms (1a,1b) are attatched at an angle to the connecting line between the bushes (2a,2b) so as to cross each other at front side of the vihicle. The bushes are predetermined to have their spring characteristics in a plane including the shaft (7a,7b) to be a non linear elastic characteristic, with the characteristic in a small displacement region being different from that in a large displacement region.
