PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition containing a 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro compound and a 3,4-dihydro compound of N-phenyl-5-pyrimidinecarboxamide and useful for the regression of leukemia and the suppression of the growth of tumor. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains a compound of formula I (R1 is H, furanosyl, pyranosyl, glucopyranosyl, galactopyranosyl, its deoxy derivative or a hydroxyalkoxyalkyl or polyhydroxyalkyl having 2-12 carbon atoms on the alkoxy and alkyl part), preferably N-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-hydroxy-4- oxo-5-pyrimidinecarboxamide and a compound of formula II, preferably N- phenyl-3,4-dihydro-6-hydroxy-4-oxo-5-pyrimidinecarboxamide at a ratio to give a mixture exhibiting antileukemic or antitumor activity. |
