PURPOSE:To obtain stable high-critical density by applying the preset heat treatment to an Ag composite wire or its coil. CONSTITUTION:The superconducting ceramic powder 2 made of rare earth elements including Y, alkaline earth metal, Cu and oxygen and having a perovskite structure is filled in an Ag tube 1, both ends of it are sealed, it is draw-machined to manufacture an Ag composite wire or coil. The Ag composite wire or coil is held at the temperature of 930-950 deg.C in the inert gas atmosphere at the oxygen partial pressure of 10<-2>atm. or below, the temperature is decreased to 930 deg.C, then it is gradually cooled from the temperature of 930 deg.C in the atmosphere or the oxygen atmosphere. In a superconducting wire rod obtained in this method, spherical bores 5 are generated on the superconducting ceramic 2 in the Ag tube 1, but no crack is generated, and no gap is generated between the tube 1 and the ceramic 2. |
