PURPOSE:To provide a concentrated softening agent having stable viscosity characteristics, capable of affording clothes or hair with flexibility, comprising a cationic softening agent, nonionic surfactant, specific water-soluble polymer and aqueous vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising (A) 6-50wt.% of a cationic softening agent, pref. quaternary ammonium salt having two 10-24C alkyl or alkenyl groups, (B) 0.05-10wt.% of a nonionic surfactant (pref. 15-80mols of 2-4C lower alkylene oxide-added one) (C) 0.01-10wt.% of a water-soluble polymer 400-100,000 in molecular weight prepared by adding 2-4C lower alkylene oxide to lower alkyl (alkenyl) group-carrying alcohol or polyhydric alcohol and (D) an aqueous vehicle. This composition, being of high concentration and stable, can broadly impart various kind of clothes and hair with flexibility, causing neither thickening nor liquid separation and giving excellent product value. |
