PURPOSE:To have a fuel supply system of circulation type, which assures efficient warm-keeping of the return side main pipe, sparing of members for installation such as U-bolt as few as the same number for a single main pipe, saving of the labor for installation work and shrinkage of the space for installation. CONSTITUTION:At the time of restarting the engine, a feed pump 9 and a fuel heater 7 are operated to send high-temp. fuel oil from the fuel supply pipe 32 into the supply passage 25. This high-temp. fuel oil warms up the cold fuel oil in the return passage 26 through the whole outside circumference of the return side main pipe 12 while passing through the supply passage 25. Meanwhile, part of the high-temp. fuel oil from the fuel supply pipe 32 is injected into the return passage 28 through an orifice 36 to warm up directly the residual fuel oil, cool and solidified in the return passage 26. The high-temp. fuel oil sent into the fuel injection pump 2 from the supply passage 25 warms the residual fuel oil, cool and solidified in the injection pump 2, and also flows together it to the return passage 26 and further back to the fuel tank 3. |
